The Seafood Capital
of the World
Calabash is a small fishing village that was established when a post office opened in the “Village of Calabash” in 1883. The “Calabash-Style Seafood” soared in popularity during the World War II era and earned Calabash the “Seafood Capital of the World” title.
Along the Calabash River, the town of Calabash offers numerous resturants, shops, golf courses and other services.
With many different neighborhoods to choose from, including the water front communities of Devaun Park and Kingfish Bay and the golf course communities of Brunswick Plantation, Crow Creek, Meadowlands, and more – it’s easy to call Calabash home!
