My childhood and earlier adulthood were in central, rural North Carolina, on a farm.  After college I taught school having an Elementary A certificate which allowed me to teach grades 3-9 and all subjects.  My call to the ocean was strong, so I moved to Holden Beach permanently in 1986.  From that time to this, real estate has been my passion as I love helping people find their place by the sea.  I made a career change from middle school teacher to real estate agent after completing my real estate broker courses at Brunswick Community College.  My initial background as an educator contributes to my ability to guide my clients.  Very early, I realized that the clients I was helping needed to be educated regarding both the processes of buying and selling real estate and the very specific facts needed to make good decisions when owning property in the coastal area.  I enjoy sharing information and teaching, as it were, and eventually sharing the joy of the closed deal!  Although I moved to the Holden Beach area in the 1980s, I have had property in Brunswick County since 1969.  My background with Brunswick County makes my a reliable and seasoned expert on the area.  I am familiar with the different locations where homes are being bought and sold.  Properties in Brunswick can be found in beach towns, golf communities, villages with fishing and shrimping histories, areas that attract movie crews, marina settings, farming areas and  more.     “I like living here because of the diversity: I feel there is a property for everyone who wants to own a piece of the coast and enjoy the coastal lifestyle.” – Anne Arnold
